It’s been a while since I was on here. What, two
months and 29 days? That’s more than a while, that’s almost a century. The
thing is that I had been preparing for college, so I haven’t been on here like
I was before. But it’s okay. It’s rewarding in its own right, I guess. I’m in
college now, Seton Hall University just so you know, and it’s been exciting,
thrilling, and terrifying all in one. But I think I’ll be able to adjust in the
next month. The commuting I’ve been doing is difficult because I come from New
York City and have to travel all the way to New Jersey by way of two trains,
New York subway and NJ Transit. It’s been heavy on me for a while now and I
still find the schedule of the NJ Transit hard to understand.
Anyways, let me write a poem for you guys:
Winter's Snow
Earth’s Crystal Tears,
I guess I should call it
Ever pure, ever white,
ever peaceful
Ever flawless
Tears of Joy,
They really are
Tears of Glee,
Thus by far
I don’t really know how
to express it
A happy planet is a
wealthy planet
No, I can’t really have
you guess it;
Shame on me for all of
my limits
On choice of words
I can’t get it out
No words to describe it
As I sit here and pout
A poet,
Am I? No, I can’t be
Expression, expression
No, I can’t be, you see
All I’ve been trying to
say is
How much I truly love
Earth’s Crystal Tears
From the Great Sky above
It’s been pretty cold out for a while now, no huge
snowstorms or anything. But snow and ice is everywhere from the quick snowstorm
we had last week. I really just wrote this poem for fun, so it probably seems
sloppy. I usually take a lot more than 20 minutes to do a simple poem. A poem
is not unlike a story; you still have to edit and voice your opinions and
concerns and yourself in to YOUR work. And 20 minutes never gives you enough time
for that. I didn’t have to sit here and write this poem in 20 minutes. I could
have sat here longer, but people need their beauty sleep, right? I really,
really don’t consider myself a poet as the poem declares. I am more of a humble
writer than I am an experienced poet. It’s just that I like poetry and may even
introduce my poems to my club on Monday to see how they respond to it. I have a
hard time getting my words out when it comes to rhyming, but I like rhyming
much more than free writing just because I like the rhythm in the verses.
Anyway, I hope it was good enough. Thanks for reading :)
